OOTD: Summer Stripes

Good afternoon Love Bugs!

Sorry its been so long! Sometimes it seems life just gets extra crazy doesn’t it? I hope you have all been doing wonderfully ❤

Today I wanted to share with you this super adorable, insanely affordable stripped dress. Ladies- this dress is so comfortable and even better it is under $15. Can you believe that price? Dress it up like I did with a pair of heels or wedges or dress it down with a cute blue jean jacket and sandals. It is still available at Forever 21 which I link below. The shoes are a resale shop find (yippee) but I have found a very similar pair for you that are 50% off right now. Let me know if any of you decide to pick up the dress or shoes and how you decide to style it. Smile bright my loves.

Hello love bugs!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Sorry for the quick post but I only have a couple minutes to get this out to you. I wore this outfit last week and it was inspired by the music festivals that are going on, particularly Coachella in California. You see so many unique and inspiring looks at these events and I wanted to put my spin on a boho festival style with a look you can still wear to work or just out and about. I LOVE these flared pants that I just picked up from Target. They were only $20 and literally fit like a glove. I really love the effortless boho vibe they give off. I rocked mine with flats but they are long enough to wear with wedges for a more elongated leg. They are made of a stretchy material that is so forgiving and comfortable! I couldn’t find them on their website but I am sure they will still have them in their stores if you are interested 🙂 The shirt and the crochet vest are both Forever 21 purchases. The vest is a great versatile piece you can throw on top of any look for a more eye catching outfit. I wore a hat in my first couple shots that is also from Forever 21. The wide brimmed, floppy hats are a huge hit this season not only for Fall/Winter but also carrying into Spring/Summer with the lighter colors. In the next few shots I wore a vintage flower headband I found at a local resale shop. I actually bought the headband as part of a Hippie Halloween costume but thought it went perfectly with the music festival theme 😉 . These floral head pieces are also a huge hit right now and I found serval awesome pieces that are similar to mine linked below. Lastly, my statement bracelet is something I found in Hawaii a couple years back. Very simple color scheme but also makes a statement with the unique shape. Let me know your thoughts on the music festival styles you’re seeing. Thanks as always for choosing to spend your time with me beauties! ❤

OOTD: Easter Dress

Hi Hunnies,

I hope you beautiful ladies had a great Easter weekend! The weather here in Texas was not very Easter-esq but we made the best of it! On Easter we went out to a lake near our house to have brunch with family. I had this maxi dress in my closet and decided the colors and flowy-ness really lent itself to an Eastery vibe 🙂 . I found this dress at a consignment shop, Buffalo Exchange, a couple years back. Its originally from Armani Exchange and is such a unique cut. I loved the low, criss cross back and the watercolor effect of the pastels. I don’t usually shop at Armani Exchange because we don’t have one locally but thats one of the many wonderful things about consignment- ability to shop brands you wouldn’t normally gravitate towards.I linked a really pretty black maxi I love from Forever 21 below that could be worn to many different occasions and dressed up or down to suit the mood :).  I found these closed toed, ankle strap wedges at the same consignment shop. They were such a bold Spring color and I loved the little lace detailing on the front. A great find for $14.99 and so happened to go with this dress perfectly- yes! The necklace was actually a piece I found while in Spain last year. I loved the deep colors of the stones and the shape of the necklace. It was such a great price too- $8! These statement necklaces are huge right now. I found 2 that I thought were awesome below.  Lastly, I decided last minute to throw my hair up in this messy undo. I don’t usually wear my hair up but wanted to show off the back on this dress. If you are interested, I would be happy to do a step by step on my hair- its super easy! Thanks for spending your time with me loves. Stay smiling ❤

Hi Gorgeous Gals!

I don’t know about you but I am really liking the cargo pant trend! I know its been around for a while but it’s one of those looks that I think will be timeless and is super versatile. I picked up my cargos from Marshalls for under $15 (steal!) and you can also find them at Forever 21 (see my link below)  for under $30. You can literally pair cargos with anything: dress them up, dress them down, wear them to work or going out, the possibilities are endless. I loved the cut of these cargos because they hit above the ankle and allow you to show off a cute, strappy heel! They also have a lot of interesting detail going on with the side pockets and the zippers. Because I was going for a more relaxed look, I pulled out this oversized cream button up that I’ve had for quite a while. I liked the effortless chic vibe and the fact that you can tie the shirt up for a little more flirty feel 😉 . It’s still a tad chilly in the mornings so I reached for a light weight jacket.  I can’t stress enough how useful a good jean jacket is ladies! I found this one at a local resale shop and I’ve worn it a million times. I usually wear mine over a summer dress or strappy top when I need to make it a little more work appropriate. I’ve linked a chic jean jacket below at a very reasonable price point. How awesome are these shoes?! I cannot believe I found these at a consignment shop. BCBG for a crazy bargain. I am such an advocate for consignment and resale shops. One mans trash is another mans treasure, right 🙂 ? So many things drew me to these wedges- the strap around the ankle, the beading detail on the front strap, the height of the wooden wedge. A comfortable, gorgeous wedge is another summer must have. I hope this look inspired you to get your cargo on lovelies! Have a glorious weekend ❤

So on Friday I had a closing on a deal I had been working for a while. I was happy to be able to wrap everything up and decided to wear a little leopard print for the occasion 😉 . It’s hard for me to turn down a good leopard print piece so when I saw this sleeveless top at a local resale shop, I had to get it. I think of leopard print almost like a neutral. You can pair it with bold bottoms for a statement or keep it simple with black or jeans. From leopard leggings, shorts, pants, skirts and tops- a little bit of animal print is never a bad thing done right! With a little chill still in the morning air, I decided to throw on this really cool jacket I picked up from Marshalls. I was drawn to the two tone effect of the sheering and the leather as well as the zipper work. This is a great example of a piece that could easily pass for having a much steeper price tag than $32.99. It just goes to show that it doesn’t have to cost a million bucks to look like it ladies!

Now onto these flashy red flares. Talk about a statement piece of clothing. You all know my love for flared jeans- well, when I saw these wide flared pants in such a fun color- I was sold. I picked them up at Steinmart during one of the 50% off sales. Check and see if you have a Steinmart local. They always seem to have designer pants at really great prices and even better prices during their big sales. Another great color I suggest in a wide flare is white. Talk about elegant looking. Such a easy piece to pair with any top in the warmer months. Because these red flares were really long on me, I knew I needed a heel with some height. I grabbed these super chic leopard print, velvet wedges I found at a consignment shop back in November. They are really well made and flattering on the leg. Both my accessories are from Forever 21. A classic braided black belt and some unique bullet dangle earrings. Check out the link below to view similar pieces I’ve found just for you. Happy shopping love bugs ❤

What’s going on babes?

Hope you all are doing wonderfully well. Can we please talk about the hot trend right now of overalls? I am sure you ladies have seen different variations of overalls splashed across the pages of magazines, stores and celeb sitings. I will be honest with you, I was a bit iffy about the trend for a while. I kept flashing back to 3rd grade, picturing myself in my Old Navy blue jean overalls and pig tails and couldn’t get that out of my mind! As I began to see the trend worn different ways, I began to warm up to the idea. When I was returning an item at Forever 21 last week I saw these long pant overalls right when I walked in and decided, I’m going for it! I am so happy I did. They are so fun and a great, versatile piece to have in your wardrobe for summer. They still have the same pair on Forever 21’s website (I will have the link below). I paired my overalls with a boho blouse because it was in the low 60’s this morning but I think these would look adorable with a crop top or even a swim suit underneath for the hottest days of summer 🙂 . If you are having some hesitations as to whether or not you should jump on the trend train, just think of overalls as a romper or jumpsuit. Same concept, similar fit! This pair was $32.80 and I also scored a short version for $27.50. I can’t wait to wear the short version with a pair of knee high gladiators! I will definitely do a post on that in the very near future so keep an eye out. I knew I wanted to dress up the look with a pair of heels and my mind instantly went to these awesome Target heels I got a couple months back. I love the weaved straw detail on the heel. I thought it went with the overall vibe 😉 . You could totally dress these up even more and rock a pair of stilettos and a sexy tube top underneath for a date night. The possibilities are endless! To finish off the look I threw on a pair of earrings I bought last week as well. I am a majjjjjoooor hoop momma. Any variation on a hoop and I am sold. I put my hair up in a messy pony to highlight the overalls and was on my way. Let me know your thoughts on the overall trend and if you dare to go there ❤

Hello there Monday,

I swear it was Friday 5 minutes ago! I had a very productive weekend. I hope you all had tons of fun as well 🙂 I think it’s safe to say that we are through winter here in Texas. The forecast is mid 70’s and low 80’s for the next week. Man, that transition seems to happen fast doesn’t it? I don’t know about you, but nothing screams “I’m ready summer!” more than a great maxi dress and a big sun hat. My 2 favorite go-to spots for maxi dresses are Forever 21 and Windsor. They have beautiful designs at really affordable price points. A maxi dress is such an easy piece to throw on. You can always dress up a simple maxi with a cute jean jacket, cardigan or crochet vest. I also love to add a  statement necklace or wear my hair up with some awesome earrings to jazz it up. My entire look is from Forever 21 (addicted much?!). This 3 quarter length sleeved maxi is a great transition piece while the weather is still a bit chilly. I loved the soft pastel colors and the cinched waist. It is still available online so if you think it might be something you want to add to your wardrobe, see my link at the bottom of my post 🙂 . This oversized sun hat is just a super fun way to make a look feel beachy. Now that we are getting into the warmer months, you can find hats like these almost anywhere. They are versatile and work as a cute accessory for day to day outfits as well as sun protection at the pool or beach. Score! Because I was going with a laid back, boho vibe, I decided to wear a pair of my summer flats. I love the gold plated detail on these sandals and the cream lends itself to almost any outfit. A couple great pairs of gladiator sandals are always a must have in my spring/summer collection. Thanks for spending some of your Monday with me. I hope the sun continues to shine down on you loves ❤
